For many years it was accepted that Jacob was born of Sarah Kimmell in 1766. Even though she and Jacob, Sr. did not marry until 1767. Some have proposed Eleanora, Jacob's 1st wife as his mother. Others have proposed that he was born in 1768, after Sarah's marriage to Jacob, Sr. You state it was 1769. What is your source for this? Are we all guessing? With all the excellent researchers we have working on this line it seems we should have his birth and parentage pretty well nailed down.

My research: Jacob Boomhower (Jacob Baumhauer) was born between January 8, 1766 - 1868 in Brunswick, NY (probably), and died Jan 15, 1841 in Pike River, Quebec. He married Hannah Maria Gloekner about 1789 in Brunswick NY (probably), daughter of George Gloekner & Angelica Conrad. I have collected information passed on .... one from a Leslie Bonhower says birth date was about 1769 in Claverack, NY; but also a Rev. James Deverage claims he was born in Claverack in 1766 as the last child of Eleanor Lora Wager. Jacob Boomhower was buried on January 1841, Pike River Cemetery, Pike River, Quebec.
It has been difficult for me to pin down the exact year, I have had so many discussions over the years on this exact date of birth. I have not been working in my family tree for a few months as went through some treatments to my right eye. Sight much better now and will be able to verify some of my work.
Keep in touch, maybe you have some information that I am having trouble getting answers for. Very distant cousin, Caroline
