Hi there,

I'm trying to track down the descendents of my great-great uncles William (about 1857 - ??), Terence (about 1863-1912), and Daniel O'Brien (about 1842-1890) who emigrated to Africa in the late 19th century.

We know that Daniel emigrated with his wife, Mary-Ann, and children (Daniel, Terence, William, Michael, Mary-Ann, Kate) shortly after the 1881 census. - South Africa

We believe that William died in Ireland but his place and date of death is unknown. He was married to Mary Madden (died 1917) and had at least one son, Michael John (Shamus) who died in 1953. South Africa (but possibly Bulawayo initially)

We know that Terence died unexpectedly in 1912 on a visit back to Ireland with his wife (Kate nee Grogan?) and infant son, Terence. My uncle Michael found substantial evidence of his business dealings when he investigated the archives on a visit to Zimbabwe and had cause to believe that Terence intended to return to Africa.

If anyone here on Geni has any contacts, I'd be delighted to receive them and can try to reciprocate with Irish information.

Thank you.

Tara
