What sources do we have to validate keeping this profile here?

Short answer: we don't. None of the MacHeth line would be using the surname "Dunkeld", anyway - that's restricted to Malcolm III and descendants (House of Dunkeld).

"Dernell" appears to be a name given to a reputed non-marital daughter of King Alexander II, so it's doubly wrong: 1) wrong gender, 2) wrong time period.
