This is very moving and touching to me .. but very revealing .. but I did find 2 mistakes in the typing of this interview and that is that Calvin married Zelica .. not sure if that mistake was at the courthouse or with the typist .. and also she referred to the document of the transferr of Sally and her children to Rebecca as a bill of sale .. Those were not bills of sales there were more or less bonds or deeds .. no sale was made that and in fact Hinchea left firm instruction that Sally or her descendants could not be sold .. And Rebecca would be responsible to enforce his wishes .
The same kind of deeds or bonds were issued to people in some states instead of a marriage license and of course we are talking about an era in history were marriages were often pre arranged .
