Lydia is listed as a wife of Thomas Gilbert senior (1589 - 1659) whose first wife was Elizabeth Bennett & they were married on 29 Aug 1610 Yardley Parish, England. In research conducted by Douglas Richardson "The English Origins of Thomas Gilbert of Braintree, Mass, and Wethersfield, Conn" published in the American Genealogist July 1992 he suggest that Lydia was the wife of Thomas Gilbert, jr (1612-1662) and the unamed wife of Thomas senior was Elizabeth Bennett who died Jan 1654 in Wethersfield Connecticut and then burial latter that year on ll May 1655 at St James in Clerkenwell, Middlesex County, England (London, England, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538 - 1812). Lydia was born in 1586 in England and died in 1653/4 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut. Lydia Gilbert was convicted and executed as a witch in the town of Windsor, Connecticut and was living in the household of Thomas Gilbert Jr at the time with the trial starting on 28 November 1654. Lydia is accused of using withcraft to kill Henry Stiles of Windsor, who had been Thomas Gilbert Jr's Former employer.
