Hi.

I've registered on Facebook with the only intentions of trying to find people there and add them here. I do not wish to actually use it ever for anything. But i have right away gotten a message "Публиковать в социальных сетях" ("Publish in social networks" in russian). It's rather annoying. I've even attempted to block facebook with privacy badger, but to no avail.

How do i turn this damn thing off? Do i have to contend with that now? It is really annoying.

There's a "turn off" near it, but when i click it, another window opens up telling me i have to confirm my e-mail with Facebook. I don't want to do anything with facebook, i want to turn the message off *on this site*.

Ok, here's what i needed to do to remove it using Chromium:

1. Install the extension called Stylish https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stylish/fjnbnpbmkenffdnng...
2. Go to that extensions page
3. Create new style
4. In the text area type put in the following:
#fb-sharing-wrapper
{
display: none !important;
}
5. In the applies to select "URLs on the domain" and input "www.geni.com" (no quotes)
6. On the left side give this style a name (mine was a very rude remark about Facebook on Geni), and click Save.
7. Refresh the page. And that rubbish no longer appears. Unfortunately it's still doing something, but i'll think of how to kill Javascript later.

In order to block facebook, you only really need to block one domain: connect.facebool.com from working while you are on geni, the rest just fall off.

I have done that with Privacy Badger extension, and all is well now.
