My Father passed away on Wednesday

your father joined geni so his profile is claimed. you will need to go the the profile click "actions" and then click "report" then click "deceased" and geni will close his account so it can be edited by you

Probably too late for this instance - but for anyone else or any future ones - it is often helpful (or so I have read) to give some details, not just click on "deceased"

If you are a close relative reporting a user as deceased that is probably enough for Geni to close the account.
