I've been adding a lot of projects lately, and my method is to add to HistoryLink as the project is being created, and then add profiles to the project. But the projects are showing with the original number of profiles at time of add, and I don't see a way to refresh / update.

?

Click on the little "re-cycle" arrows next to the project name (in the HistorySearch list of projects).

Tried that. No joy.

I've mentioned before that there is some delay for showing the new number even after the program appears to be finished. Then, the screen refresh is not obvious. For a long time I thought it wasn't updating, then I noticed it really was. I tried it just now and it seems to be working just like that.

When you first enter that page which lists all the projects, it sometimes takes a while before the full list appears.

After updating a project's count ... I suspect that same 'delay' is happening before the window is refreshed. It's probably the time to re-pull the data from the database. (e.g. acting as a full refresh of the window, rather than a refresh of the one line-item).

I have to say that I have refreshed/added a project and waited patiently but still nothing. Sometimes waiting I see it change other times it seems to do nothing even after multiple attempts.

Is it possible to remove a project from HistoryLink?

Yes, but you have to do it via the url. So the format would look like this:
http://historylink.herokuapp.com/projects?delete=12345

12345 being the project id.

As an FYI, the HistoryLink database size is at 86.67% it's maximum capacity (13.33% remaining) under the current tier.

So ... we (all us users) may soon need to 'crowd-source' an upgrade, or find a generous "home" for it. (<smile>)

Randy Schoenberg has generously taken on the cost of hosting the front end of HistoryLink. He has a backend database for the GFDC, which I think would easily be able to store the HistoryLink data as well at no additional cost. I just have to get with him and get it migrated over.

Erica, I posted a message yesterday, I do not see it in the discussion online. I was viewing an old bookmark or Favorites list on my computer. It was a listing in regard to Guillaume ll van Meldert. When I opened this site my tree displayed approximately 750 profiles. When I exited the site my tree listed 616 profiles Can you help reset this, as you recall Ilost over a 100 profileson a prior occasion. I did not attempt to change or modify anything on the site . I only viewed the content. Thanks ,Dale Melder.

It is Guilluame ll Van Meldert

2/15/2016 at 10:53 AM

Guillaume II van Meldert

I do not show a path between you and him.

Can you look at my tree and see if a reset to the former status is workable? I was just doing research to see if I could find a link .

Respectfully, Private User, this is not the correct topic to dealing with 'connections' / paths to particular people. This is a topic for the HistoryLink tools.

Suggested alternatives:
- Start a new discussion under the Discussions tab of Guillaume II van Meldert.
or
- Ask for help in the Public Discussion "Attention Curators, ..." http://www.geni.com/discussions/142108

Thanks for helping this topic to stay focused.
