Rabbis project?

Seems to make sense to me that Rabbis could be added to this project as this project overview does say 'equivalent in any religion' however there are a number of projects about Rabbis from different areas that would probably benefit from having an umbrella project. If this was created then it could also be 'related' to the Clergy in the Family project.

Looks like a plan Malka Mysels, can I leave it to you and Private User to implement? Not really my area.

Malka - be sure and have just a generic Rabbi project also, if you can. I have run across profiles where I know the designation but nothing more. If i have a "rabbi" project to add the profile to, perhaps it will more easily be developed.

While we're on this topic, I was just thinking about a "Religion" portal. We have quite a few projects now, should be indexed / assembled for easier navigation.

Great idea! However, the boundary between theology and idealogy can be exceedingly difficult to distinguish.

I won't sweat it of no one else does. A Portal is a collection of projects, and debates about whether it's "religion" or not can be individual. I'd just follow "Wikipedia rules" -

Malka Mysels: if you want to create it, I'm happy to help. It seems odd to have lots of dynasty- and era-specific projects, but none that we can add under the Occupations one.

Eric - nice job so far, but I believe your text needs editing - -
1) semicha - I believe you should explain the term and & I believe a "better" spelling is s'micha.
2) NO congregations "ordain" rabbis. In today's world ONLY Yeshivot grant s'micha.
3) there are more - but this is a start ...........
