Thanks to everyone for joining the "High School of Music & Art" project. Loretta Alexandra & I attended this (fantastic) school, in different eras.
My hope is that we are inspired to build out trees for the people associated with the school (alum, teachers, etc) -- and find connections between them.
Who's joining me in this? As a school that trained artists & musicians, I wouldn't be surprised to find worldwide connections. (Check out Diahann Carroll's tree as example).
The rock and roll music of the era right after I left high school was formed by The New York Dolls. Of course I was a fan and almost-groupie, and I met them & their hangers on thru my high school friends who stayed in NYC while I lived in the Boston area for college. I don't think any band member (or hanger on) went to M&A but I'm not sure yet.
Anyway I'll just drop off a couple of references to that time, place, and those people
