The esteemed curator has clarified that RW I is not Capt. RW, but is his grandson.

The Captain was evidently merged away in 2013.

Could someone who has information on the generation between the 2 -- reconnect them?

This is sort of my area, so I'll see what I can do with it.

Okay, Capt RW is back, labeled "(Founder)", and the tree is tidied up (up to a point).

I hope neither of you mind, but I MPed RW, I, just in case someone decides to merge him with his grandfather again. He has 34 managers and is a colonial ancestor, so I felt it was appropriate.

I can MP Capt RW also, if you like.

Yes I think that would be a good thing.

Thank You, both of you !

I'm afraid that the Warfield and Browne Tree is fouled up with too many erroneous merges.

Richard Warfield married Elinor Browne daughter of Capt. John Browne, of Maryland, not Rev. John Browne of Rhode Island!

Capt. John Brown is known to have two children, not the many children that the Baptist Reverend had!!

Perhaps one of you can split the tree and orrect the lines?

Hi, Rickey! I sincerely hope that I have been able to help you repair and restore our Family Tree which was obvious spoiled by someone who no matter how well intentioned, fouled it up with erroneous merges!

Thanks. This isn't the only area with bad grandfather/grandson merges, that I've run into into the last week or so.

Maybe sometimes when people have a convenient interface, they are going without adequate care.

I saw in some cases patently ubsurd facts created by merging that sat as true for years ( people having children at advanced ages or before birth, several clusters of identically named and identically partnered siblings for the same pair of parents ).

I think anything ridiculous should be thoroughly explained or short-lived. How can we deal with the hard cases if the easy clobbers stay there generating further confusion?
