Sarah Webber is my 8th great grandmother. I notice that this site has Arnout Webber listed as her father. Arnout and many other Webber's listed as his Ancestors/relatives are among those removed from the family line of Annika Jans because there is no evidence of the relation. People were constantly linking every Webber they could find to her. Sara Webber married Sybrandt Brouwer, Annaka Jan's great grandson and my 8th great grand father. Someone even took a photo of Annika Jans and posted as a photo of Anna Wallace, Arnout's supposed mother.
I don't believe Arnout Webber is Sarah Webber's father. I'm not saying that the Webber line that is linked to Sarah Webber didn't exist, it obviously did. But people with various agenda's over the years have polluted this to the point that it's hard to know what the relations were between the various Webber families. There were several families amongst the early Dutch settlers with the name Webber that had no direct or immediate relation to one another. In addition to the problem of people to continuing to creating bogus links to this Webber line, there is another problem with this connection. Arnout died 10 years before Sarah was born.
Unless evidence is provided to the contrary, the managers of this Sarah's page need to break the link Arnout Webber as her father.
Hi cousin,
Did you also, in addition to contacting my, contact the site manager(s) for Arnout Webber and Sarah Webber? I think that's the only way this may have a possibility of being resolved. I've been pretty busy these days, it may be a great while before I have time to get to the New York Historical Society to find documents to back up this information. Are you also finding this misleading information among the LDS files? I wish you luck. Let me know how you get along.

Yes, I am aware of the legal actions by the decedents of Annaka Jans vs Trinity Church. And there have been many bogus claims of relation due to that (especially with variations of the Jans and Jansen etc). But that's not the source of the Webber issue. The problem with the bogus links to Webber's stems from the claim that Annaka decended from William the Silent, Prince of Oranje, through a clandestine relationship. It is true that William had 4 wives and at least one relationship outside of marriage. His children outside marriage were given the surname of Webber. This is known because there is at least one such child that he did claim and that child was given the surname of Webber. But that was with a woman of similar station. It is believed that he had other relations which also bore children but did not claim them because the mother was below his station. There are various claims that Annaka descends from one of these. Some say that he is her father, others that he is her grand father. But the reason that people were trying to link to her was to do with a legend that that he left a small fortune to her descendants. That fact is that there no evidence to support any claim that Annaka descends from William the Silent. The problem is that the claims can not be disproven either. There isn't any undisputed evidence as to who Annaka's father really was. So, although highly improbable, it is not impossible that she could have descended from William the Silent. And it is to that end that everyone keeps linking any relative with the Webber surname to Annaka. People would just keep linking everyone to her weather she was related to them or not and they would clone other profiles and link them to her as a different relation. Annaka's profile is a master profile with a curator and she finally got most of the bogus links removed. All of the relations listed as being Sarah Webber's father and up the tree on her father's side from there were some of the ones that were removed from Annika's Jan's profile as being bogus. It is very clear that Arnout could not possibly be Sarah's father as he died 10 years before she was born. The link needs to be removed until or unless someone can provide evidence that the link is legitimate.
