I copied this from the about info on this page. According to this historian Agnes Greenway was John Howland 1 daughter in law, not wife???
Oh dear, I think you're right.
Just to break it out:
"John Howland of Newport Pond in the county of Essex, whose will was proved 12th of April, 1550.
His son John2 Howland, the citizen and salter, has been already mentioned, born in Newport Pond, married Agnes, daughter of John Greenway of Winton, co. Norfolk.
"John2 Howland, the citizen and salter, had eleven sons, and one daughter who died an infant.
"Of his son John2 Howland nothing is known but that he named his youngest child John3 Howland.
This John3 Howland was married at Newport to Blanche, daughter of William Nightingale, gentleman. Had four sons and three daughters.
