Charles Tempany - Birth in Cambridgeshire?

Charles seems to have an elusive birth. I can't find any evidence anywhere. Can anyone assist?

1841 census gives 1837
1851 census gives 1840
most other family trees give 1843

his birth is not on freebmd site
