30 Dec 2006: Richard B. Eckert, 72, Hershey, passed away Friday, December 29, 2006. He was born Wednesday, January 7, 1934, in Hershey, a son of Dorothy (Rudy) Eckert and the late Harvey Eckert. Dick was a 1952 graduate of Hershey High School and completed business courses at Penn State University. He began his career with the former AMP, Inc., and since 1966 was the owner of Cindex, Inc. Dick was a member of Palm Lutheran Church in Palmyra; National Tool & Die Makers Association; Brownstone Lodge #666 F&AM in Hershey; and the Harrisburg Consistory. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Janet (Walters) Eckert; children Rick Eckert and his wife, Jane of Palmyra, Cindy Eckert Horst and her husband, Robert of Annville and Tom Eckert of Palmyra; sisters Sandra Walters of Palmyra and Mary Hitz and her husband, Clarence of Hummelstown; grandchildren Laura and Molly Eckert, Graham and Adam Horst, and Katie and Matthew Eckert; and great-grandchildren Elyse Eckert and Jayden Neely. Service Tuesday, January 2, in his church. Interment in Grand View Memorial Park. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
