Hello,

I am looking for any information regarding families named Nissenholtz/Nisenholtz/Nisenholtz from the Ukraine. My great grandfather Froyem Nissenholtz was born in Mezerich in the Ukraine. My grandfather's original name was Benzion Nissenholtz: he changed it to Ben Gold after he emigrated to the US and settled in Boston. My great great uncle Pincus Nissenholtz emigrated to St. Louis at the start of the last century. My great grandfather had another brother named Joseph Nissenholtz; I recently learned that two of Joseph Nissenholtz's sons emigrated to Canada before the first World War and settled in Winnipeg.

I believe that any families named Nissenholtz/Nisenholtz/Nisenholtz from the Korets Raion of the Rivne Oblast, Ukraine or Volhynia (the Wolyn district) may be connected to these Nissenholtz families from Mezerich. I would appreciate any information you could share. Please contact me here at Geni or at cosmodewey@hotmail.com

Thank you,

Ivy Dennett-Thorpe

Families named Nisengolc may be connected to these families as well (Apparently the name is spelled Nisengolc in Russian ).
