Seeking any information on my great Grandmother, Martha Matilda who married Thomas Lane Jamison, Jimmerson and other various spellings. They lived near Cook Station, Dent County, MO.
Originally we were told she didn't know her parents because she had been kidnapped by Gypsies. Later a story evolved that a Samuel Turner, who worked at the sawmill in Cook Station, had picked Matti up on his way to Missouri because he and his wife couldn't have any children and Matti's mother was unable to care for her. The Turners told Matt on her wedding day that she was born a Danials. We have no idea how they got that information or even if it was true.
