I use Geni Basic. Person A is my fourth cousin from my father's side and my second cousin from my mother's side. Geni continues to show only the fourth cousin relation. How do I make Geni show the closer second cousin relation? Is there a preference choice hidden somewhere or could Geni perhaps show both relations?

You can force Geni to re-calculate the path by clicking on the refresh icon that appears to the right of the path. If you hover the point over the icon it will display when the path was calculated.
You can also try to calculate the path in the reverse direction,

I can't see any refresh icon but I managed to get the closest relative.
