I would love to see some solid proof of Arthur Bailey's parentage - Peter Cocke Bailey claimed to be a descendant of William Bayley the immigrant through his grandfather Abraham Bailey, but every time I try to find a valid connection the dates are impossible. Thomas Bailey, son of William Bailey 1583 who arrived on the Prosperous May 1610, mother Mary arrived on the George 1617 was born about 1620 in Jamestown. Arthur was definitely born outside the colonies because he received land for his own transportation.
William Bailey born 1570 England is said to have died 1687 in New London, CT. It is unlikely that he came to Virginia had a family, then moved to Connecticut.
Both of the Thomas Bailey's listed in this profile have parents who are younger than themselves.
