Margaret Thomas of New Castle, Delaware

Margaret Thomas was born 1781 in New Castle. Delaware to what family stories describe as a prominent Presbyterian family. She married
William Liston, a Quaker. After economic reversals they moved to Indiana where she died in 1846. Two of her sons remained in Indiana. The elder, James became a well respected doctor and his brother, Jonathan Allee built a successful career as a lawyer. If you have an ancestor with a daughter or a sister named Margaret, I would appreciate knowing more about her. Family stories say she was well educated and she encouraged her sons to pursue professional careers. Margaret is my great great grandmother. My grandmother was named for her, but when her mother died when she was 14 she changed her name to the same as her mother's to honor her.
Even though I am named Margaretta, my father chose to call me Margaret to honor his grandfather's mother.
