Jacob F. Cornels - Birthplace/Previous Residences Prior to Entering United States

Iowa births show Jacob's birthplace as "Holstein" which I extrapolate as Schleswig-Hostein, Germany. However, my mother (Judy Love) cites he was born in Alsace-Lorraine. Finally, his immigration card shows Denmark as his "Country of birth or allegiance." I trust my mom's information over the others.

This brings into question if Jacob moved to Denmark before immigrating to U.S. or if he just put that on the card. Another variable is his wife (Ferdenantine) was born in Schleswig-Hostein, Germany, very close to the Denmark border.
