Ignoring the profiles on geni and just concentrating on the marriage record from family search would make the family look like this in 1900 based on the marriage record and 1900 census:

Thank you, Randy. The one and only thing we know about my grandmother's (Marie Welsh Lawler) father is that his name is Peter Welsh
Looking at the 1920 Census Marie Lawler is listed (married to my grandfather Raymond A. Lawler) She lists her father as born in Scotland and her mother as born in England.
This seems to match the record I linked above. I do know that my parents spoke of the surname "Cuff" in lineage.
Am I on the wrong track here?

I don't think your on the right or the wrong track. What you have found are some records that are probable candidates for your Peter Welsh but you don't have enough info yet to assert a strong "yes this is him." I'll see if I can find some time in the next couple of days to see if I see any more promising leads for you.
