I am looking for confirmation that the JOSEPH CLARKE that married a DORCAS, married DORCAS SHEFFIELD who married JOSEPH CLARKE sometime before 1764 when he had JAMES CLARKE, b. 22 Nov 1764, and Dorcas 1769 and Lucy 1780 (and more). I cannot find a marriage record for Joseph Clarke and Dorcas _____ Sheffield?

Nathan Sheffield and Dorcas Helme married 18 Apr 1730/1 in South Kingstown, RI. Records show they had William 1730/1, Christopher 1732, Elizabeth 1734, Susanna 1736, and Nathan 1737 in S. Kingstown. I cannot find a record of a Dorcas born to this couple though many trees say a Dorcas was born 1745. NEED BIRTH RECORD!

When did Dorcas (Helme) Sheffield die? Many trees say 1738, but the same trees show she had a Dorcas in 1745, no birth record to confirm this birth!

According to RI Vital Records, Dorcas Sheffield, dau. of Nathan & Dorcas Sheffield, marry WOODMAN WILBUR on 6 Apr 1769. That Dorcas Sheffield died 1/1/1770, or was it the daughter Dorcas, who died in 1770?

Also according to RI Vital Records, WOODMAN then married another child of Nathan & Dorcas Sheffield, Elizabeth Sheffield b. 1734 in 1771. She died 1779 and he married 3rd, a Catherine Kenyon. Woodman died in 1825.
