It's amazing the new information that continues to crop up and become available over time, when ten years ago so little was available. I have recently found a wonderful website: http://1-22infantry.org/history/historytitle.htm
Apparently, this regiment is the oldest, longest running regiment in the U.S. States Infantry/Army. This website was created by and continues to be contributed to by Regiment members, thus a great deal of information. As it pertains to Arthur W. Gubisch, I am able to track almost day by day where he is by following the Company's activities, from re-enlisting, shipping out to San Francisco where he boarded the U.S.S. Senator, arriving in the Philippines, to his moving around from village to village. If you know your ancestor's company, you can do the same. This is true as well for anyone researching Buffalo Soldiers who were shipped there as well.
