Most records show Thomas Arnold (father of Mary Jane Arnold) being born in Kent England in 1798. But his parents (John B Arnold and Elizabeth Hitt were both born in the USA, (both born in Virginia and both died in Kentucky). Do we have the wrong Thomas Arnold as father of Mary Jane Arnold? Next problem is: who is her mother? Most records show a Betsy Hughes. There is no trace of her. I haven't checked in England. Guess they could both have been born in England?? Did his parents travel to England before he was born? I seriously doubt it.
Anyone else chasing this?
