Abby Barry Bergman When I try to find the relationship between myself and someone else in the world tree, it only takes me to the page to join as a Geni PRO member. I thought that finding relaitonships was a free feature?

Abby Barry Bergman,

I think that it may be a Pro feature. Will verify it and post what I find.

Abby,

I'm going to ask Mike Stangel to answer your question, as I cannot locate it.

Mike Stangel,

Can you please answer Abby's question for me as I cannot locate the answer to it anywhere on Geni.

Abby, are you starting from the profile page of the person to whom you want the relationship, or somewhere else?

Now that's odd I can't reproduce this... Abby Barry Bergman Kevin Lawrence Hanit Mike Stangel If I go to the search box in search results yes it does say under name that you have to be a pro member to view some results.. For example I want to search for john q pubic.. it will let me do that but it will say you can't view john q public dirrectly when you click on it but you can view his mother his siblings etc etc so it's not like i can't find the relation at all if it exists..

Private,

Advanced searching is a pro feature.

The Relationship path is supposed to be a Free feature. From

Everyone can view relationship paths for free! Put simply, this features shows you how any two people are most closely related on the World Family Tree. Here's how to view the relationship between two people without your profile being one of them. First, search for the profile you'd like to start with. In this example, I'm starting with Queen Elizabeth II.

Does this no longer work??

3/24/2015 at 4:44 PM

Mike Stangel,

Does it not work?

3/24/2015 at 4:53 PM

Not for me.

i'll look into it and see.. do you mean like trying to find the relation between john alden and another person?

i can see that john alden is related to my family in this case i tested it against my great great grandpa so I'm not sure what's up

3/24/2015 at 5:11 PM

For example, my great grandmother (Sarah Gurion Troy) was purportedly related to David Ben Gurion. Maybe it was fiction. But, when I tried to find the relaitonship between the two, I was passed on to the page to become a PRO subscriber.

Abby,

It is not a direct cousin relation, but:

David Ben-Gurion First Prime Minister of Israel is Sarah Troshansky (Gurien)'s great granddaughter's husband's first cousin's ex-wife's first cousin's husband's second cousin thrice removed's wife's brother's wife's first cousin twice removed's wife's sister's husband's brother.

I think your problem is getting to the other profile. When I was basic, years ago, I could not use Geni search without hitting pay wall.

Use google.
