Son of William Strachey, III (Secretary of the Colony of Virginia for about a year, c. 1610-11) and Frances Forster.

Married three times, NOT to a Mary Miller.

Had a son, William Strachey V, who DID marry Mary Miller, lived in Gloucester County, VA, for an extended period of time, and eventually returned to London.

William Strachey married 2nd to a Martha per his will:
27 Oct 1686. William STRACHEY of St. Austin [Augustine], London, merchant, dated 27 Oct 1686. To be buried in the church of Camberwell, Sy [Surrey]. To my wife Martha STRACHEY L120 and the rents due at my decease from my estate in Essex. To my daughter Arabella Waters, wife of John Waters, now in VA, planter, L10 a year. To my granddaughter Elizabeth Cox, daughter of Arabella Waters, the rents and profits of my houses and estates to a total of L200 and possession of the same after the deaths of the said John and Arabella Waters. My friend George Richards of London, merchant, to be my exec. Wits: Mary Wither, John How, scrivener, and Samuel Pollet. Pr.—Mar 21,1687 by the named exec. (PROB 11/386/42)

William Strachey V and Mary Miller had one known child, a daughter Arabella, who married 1) Henry Cox NOT of Henrico County, and 2) John Waters of Old Rappahannock County. Two children Cox (son William, daughter Elizabeth), one son Waters (born c. 1687, possibly posthumous).

Dates and relationships are *all messed up*.

Mess has been sorted, with time and patience (leading to a bigger mess which took more time and patience....)
