I am new here. I don't know if this is being posted at the right place, I did not find a directory list of the forums available. I read through the first 20 pages of the discussion and found few: "how do I do this questions" lolol, ergo, my confusion.
I am a direct descendant of ANDREW ZALLAHA (which I have documented on MyHertiage.com and in doing so I came across GENi.com and thought it looked a little easier to work with)
I would like to merge these two sites, is it possible to do that??
I am also interested in and related to: LANDON/HARTER/SORENSEN'S of Iowa and would like to have all of them too : )
While Geni and MyHeritage are owned by the same parent company they don't currently have a way to transfer data between the sites.
MyHeritage is designed around private trees that are maintained by a tree admin who controls which users are allowed access to the private tree and to what level of access they receive.
Geni is different. Geni has a goal of build a single unified tree. It's possible that with the nearly 90 million profiles on the Geni World Tree that some of your ancestors are already listed. If that's the case then all it takes is building up to those ancestors and then merging the tree you have started onto the world tree at those profiles.
The notes in this project may be of help

Sorry! I am not seeing how to respond to each individual post. First I just found that I had been responded to, thank you, thank you!!
Jonathan K. I appreciate your response, lol, it's a bit annoying that I can not merge the imput from MyHertiage, dang I put a lot of effort there :(
I am thinking I may redo it here though, I like the one tree concept! When I was a kid, I was in a group called "Up with People" and it was sort of a joining hands of all people; puts me in mind of doing this : )
Up, up! with people, their the best kind of folks we know...
if more people, lalalalaa (it was happy song, loved it!)
