Private notified me of common confusion in this part of the tree and inaccuracies we have in Geni. I'd like to try and resolve these and document them to prevent future confusion. As a start, I've split her ancestors from this main branch, but that's not to say that some of the siblings of Samuel Smith should instead be in that other branch. In fact, that is one thing I'd like this discussion to figure out, along with the proper parents of each. Thank you for any assistance or documentation you can offer to clarify these two branches. This part of the tree is in a bit of a mess and could really use some focus.
The focus of the initial confusion.

Here is part of the discussion from Private.
"My Smith people were Quakers and my sources were from Quaker records, so far. There were several Samuel Smiths' and someone put the wrong one with my Naomi Whitacre. My Samuel Smith was from New Jersey before going to Virginia. The Samuel Smith who replaced my Samuel Smith was from Pennsylvania and also went to Virginia but died at a much later date than mine. My Samuel Smith died in 1785. I studied the William Smith line and it is not mine, though they appear to be at first glance. Also DNA shows that line not to be mine. Both lines are in the Family Tree DNA site. To make this more confusing, Naomi Whitacre Smith moved from the same area of Pennsylvania where William Smith lived.
The two Richard Smiths' seem to also be conflicted, as the younger one died in England instead of the eldest one."
