In my native language, Dutch, there is a severe difference between someones EDUCATION - f.i. like me I am an agricultural engineer - PROFESSION - I used to be a consultant in my own business with several people working around - and OCCUPATION - I once, long ago, was the one who had to inform the journalism about the environmental issues in the provincial administration of North-Brabant, the Netherlands. So who is to be added to this portal?

Lists of engineers

I have two projects for engineers in the Netherlands :
* http://www.geni.com/projects/Wageningers-in-de-familie/7452, for the ones educated at the Agricultural University of Wageningen, WUR, but I intended to link also people who did NOT get a degree.
* http://www.geni.com/projects/Delftenaren-in-de-familie/12289 for technical engineers who visited the former Technische Hogeschool DELFT, nowadays also know as TU Delft for Technical University in Delft. Nowadays also engineers are educated in Eindhoven (think of PHILIPS there) and the region TWENTE, in Enschede, where the Technische Universiteit Twente has a campus and a lot of faculties.

In our language we make a difference between an INGENIEUR = ir. educated at academic level and INGENIEUR = ing. educated at 'Hogeschool' level, they can go afterwards to the universities to get a higher degree. But I am oldfashioned, for young people now talk about MASTERS and BACHELORS, so maybe the term engineer doesn't exist any longer after some years ...? who knows more about that?

I will have a look to know more about the different faculties at the different Technical Universities, ok? At het Agricultural Univesity Wageningen there used to be only ONE faculty and even biologists like me got a diploma with the titel : l.i. = landbouwkundig ingenieur.

Universities that gave a diplome as Engineer:

* TUD ~ Technische Universiteit Delft - v/h TH Technische Hogeschool Delft : http://www.tudelft.nl/
* Technische Universiteit Twente te Enschede : http://www.utwente.nl/
* Technische Universiteit Eindhoven : http://www.tue.nl/
* Wageningen Universiteit - v/h Landbouwhogeschool : http://www.wageningenur.nl/
