There is a persistent, bizarre myth that George Truitt married the "orphan Frances Graves", "daughter" of Capt. Thomas Graves.
This is totally bogus, because the "orphan FrancIS Graves" was the SON of Capt. Graves.
George Truitt's first wife was Frances Peddenton.

Marriage* circa 1645 She married George Truitt I circa 1645.1,2,3
Married Name circa 1645 As of circa 1645,her married name was Truitt.1
Anecdote* 11 November 1645 On 11 Nov 1645 Hen. Pedenden saith in open court that Frances Trewitt lying sick at his house stated that her husband George Trewitt might sell her land at the Old Plantation whereupon Henry answered saying do you know what you desire, and she replied saying "why father" the land is mine and he is my husband, and I desire that he might do with it has he pleased.3,2
[Note: lying "sick", in this context at this time, could mean lying-in. She might well want the assistance of a more experienced woman...like her mother.]
Family: George Truitt I b. 1617, d. b 16 Oct 1670
Children
1. Henry Truitt+1 b. c 1646, d. b 19 Dec 1676

Another daughter sometimes assigned to her, Jane, was specifically stated to be "under 18" in George Truitt's will of 1670, so must have been his daughter by second wife Alice (Watson?).
