Do you mean data conflicts? Go to a profile on your tree in Profile View and click on Actions (upper top righthand). That will bring down a menu of options. One of them is See Nearby Merge Issues.
I did that and see a few Requested Merges, some Tree Conflicts, and a lot of merges that still need to have the data conflicts resolved. You can click on View This Profile in the last list and see one by one the information from the merged profiles that is in conflict.
As to choosing which is the correct information, that's a matter of research or discussing with the other manager.
Feel free to email me with specific links to profiles that you have a question about.
Reuven - do you know about - Click "Actions" - then look at Pop-Up Choices? - do you see "Resolve Conflicting Data"?? -
If you see that choice, then it is possible you will see your "missing" data there - the Profile shows the Data from the Primary Profile - so if your Profile was not chosen as Primary, then you will not see your Data - but it should be in the Data Conflict window.
If someone else has already "resolved" Data Conflicts - then
a) If your Profile was Primary, but they chose the other Data - this change can be found in the Revisions Tab - and reversed.
b) If your Profile was NOT Primary, and they chose the Data in the Primary Profile - then your Data is lost/gone - do not know if there is a way to retrieve - but maybe Bjorn knows for sure.
Hatte Blejer (absent until Nov 1) Oh, I was under the impression with his response,
" I do not mean data conflicts i found data put it in my tree then when i merged the tree with another it removed the data i placed and put other data there instead ",
that he is referring to a profile where the data conflict no longer exists, but
his information eg. in the About Me section disappeared with the merge.
So, it might be that his information was lost to the dominant primary profile.
AH - sounds like he did not know about Click on "Actions" - upper right of Profile - to get Drop Down Menu - from which he can then choose "Resolve Conflicting Data".
Without that knowledge (and it will show there Before a Data Conflict shows in Merge Center - so it is a better way to check!!) he quite reasonably thought it had disappeared.
"Resolve Conflicting Data" is different from "See Nearby Merge Issues" - tho that may be another way to get to same place - the "Resolve .. " is the one I usually use.
the data isnt lost if i search for the profile it comes up. it is also possible i entered wrong data and thats why i think somthing is wrong. my issue is in the horowitz line of the tree.the other issue i have is in my fathers mothers family my great uncle appears 2 or 3 times and hasnt been fully merged yet is that possible to fix? thank you
thanks for all the help i think the end result is that i entered wrong information and that is why i am confused.
there is still the issue with my fathers mothers line of the tree my great uncle appears at least twice my grandmother had on sibling her brother and if you look at the information it is the same. is there any way to resolve this i havent been able to. thank you
Hatte Blejer (absent until Nov 1) While you are away I will see what I can do for Reuven. Have a great trip!
Thanks Malka Mysels. If you go to his tree and go to one of his parents or grandparents and click on View Merge Issues, you'll see a lot of data conflicts and I do suspect that in addition to possible incorrect data he mentioned, these are a problem. There have been a number of recent merges and I'm not sure if all the merges are completed yet either. There may be tree conflicts too.
