After his parents divorced, Herbie was raised by his Aunt Molly Veaner (Edna Harris's sister) mostly but his mother was also in the house.

In their later years, Molly, Edna, and Albert (brother) lived together on Green Street in Harrisburg, Pa.

Quaint home with pots of soup often cooking on the range. Phrase frequently uttered was "You don't know what's good," every time I refused to eat peas.
