Collaboration Pool & Privacy Questions/Concerns/Clarification

I'm curious, what is the rationale behind Curators in the “Collaboration Pool” stipulating a requirement that one submits and utilises their full real name online, as well as those of their immediate living family members, as a prerequisite to collaboration in helping to build Geni's stated goal of a shared family tree for the entire world?

Also, if one were to use their full real name here as the username on their account, would it appear to other logged in Geni users in places such as these public discussion forums and on the guestbooks of other users?
