I think it was more likely a "bad merge" - somebody with a version of Nicholas Wyatt who was working from old information and didn't know it was obsolete.
I'm a bit sorry to lose the line myself, as it was a direct connection to William the Marshal - one of a very few persons in the Middle Ages who are *worth* being related to. But he's still a multi-great-uncle through a different line, so that's close enough.
MP's done (these guys are getting closer related to me all the time).
Damaris Bland do we know her 1st husband / mother of daughter Mary?
We don't even know whether she is the Stockett or her first husband was, or if there were definitely Stocketts involved at all. Her placement under Thomas Stockett and Frances Aylesworth is "oral tradition" and convenience, and only that.
Still working on identifying the Stockett sons - there were 10 of them, 3 named Thomas (it has been assumed that the first two Thomases died young), and at least two daughters (some sources call them "Ann" and "Jane"). I filed "Mysterious Stockett or Yates" under this group to keep her out from under Mary Wells Stockett Yates, who is *highly* unlikely to have been her mother given the dates we know.
From Documents on Nicholas Wyatt looks like he was Quaker as he got charged in court with non conformity. With what I know about Quakers he had to marry into faith or get booted. His wife’s were Quakers or would have to be unless he got booted out Quakers. My find the wives in Quaker records.

He was a "convinced" Quaker - wasn't born into the faith (it didn't, in any case, exist until he was a mature adult). Maybe Damaris was "convinced" also, and maybe she wasn't. But her first husband almost certainly wouldn't be.
Quakers came into even worse odor in England than Puritans, so an increasing number bailed out for the Colonies, where they soon found they were not welcome anywhere (except Maryland, which, though founded as a haven for Catholics, had become tolerant of practically everybody).
The first trek up to Maryland, c. 1649-50, was led by a bunch of Puritans giving the middle finger to the government of Virginia - and some of them later did become Quakers.
(It wsn't until 1681 that William Penn got his land grant on which he built the Quaker haven of Pennsylvania - a name forced on him by King Charles II to honor Penn's father, Admiral William Penn.)
I notice someobody's been messing around with Nicholas again. He did NOT, so far as is known, have any "first wife" - Damaris was his first and ONLY known wife. Nicholas and Damaris were apparently part of that first trek north, mentioned above.
"His wife" and "Her daughter" in the text refer to DAMARIS BLAND Damaris Bland and MARY DAMARIS WELSH (WYATT), and to NO ONE ELSE. Somebody totally misread the text and robbed Damaris of a daughter, while giving Nicholas a FICTITIOUS wife.
Whoever Botched up Sarah Dorsey also convinced a Curator to LOCK UP the Bad relationship so that it could never, ever be corrected.
Sarah is the daughter of Nicholas Wyatt and Damaris Bland. Nicholas NEVER had any other wife. Nicholas AND Damaris were married and up in Maryland by 1649. The daughter who came with them was NOT Sarah, but Mary-Damaris, Damaris' daughter by her deceased first husband.
Maven,
I just added links I found which can be taken down and photos easy removed. I did go and ask to have him added as Quaker. The books and other evidence I found suggest he was Quaker As you stated. I just thought since he was Quaker his wife’s would have to be. My Bad. I will look see Sarah Dorsey thing.

Nicholas *became* a Quaker, eventually. The whole Quaker movement started with one George Fox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Fox in England, circa the 1640s and got really rolling during the 1650s. Fox eventually visited and preached in the Colonies himself (1671-1673), but a fair number of his adherents had already been active over here.
Maven I got him added will let you all figure out if wives were also Quakers. Just way on structure of quaker faith I took his wife or wives would have had to follow as one my other relatives got kicked from them for marring our faith. I was courious as question was brought up to me and I saw where it stated that they had to convert. It no biggy just trying to help group out.
