Does anybody mind if we separate this project into several, such as:
- British film actors
- British television actors
- British stage actors
- British musicians
and bring them under the umbrella Entertainment Industry project?

Hi Nathan Luke,
I think, we're/Geni is covered on sub- projects for the "British (Musical) Invasion". ;-)
http://www.geni.com/project/search?q=Musicians
May I suggest, possibly conducting a General project(s) search, i.e.: "Actors" (Which will provide you with a broad over- view, of all of the current GENI Projects available, on the subject of interest.), before creating/suggesting new ones? ;-)
When you go to the List, which is under the Link provided above, you'll see, that I entered, quite generically, "Musicians", into the, projects search bar . And If you scroll past the first few, you run right into the row of sub- projects, specifically created for the department: "British Isle".
Also to be found listed under the same search, just for example, is: "Stars on Broadway" (American Musical)... and Many, Many, more.

Thanks for the suggestion Theresa. I usually do project searches. I hadn't yet looked at doing anything with musicians. I wanted to focus on tv/film and the British Stage Actors was the only relevant one I could find.
As I've started looking through the profiles in this project I've found that they are really varied.
Here's another one, more on your main topic.

But also, scanning the British Actors projects and sub- projects on GENI, (omitting the few you have newly initiated), you seem to be spot on, they are more or less, heaped into one big pile under the British Stage Actors, British Celebrities, swinging 60's and the good old entertainment industry notables projects. ;-)
Yep. I think in the 'early days', this 'heaping' was ok. But now that Geni is growing rapidly and we are adding more profiles, I think we have enough to start breaking down into better categories.
I do intend on reviewing what there is for musicians, which is why I suggested the British Musicians - but when I saw that some projects already existed, I figured I'd leave this part until later.
- My initial thoughts are to maybe create a British Musicians project and then hang all the branches off that one.
I'm just trying to work out the next level of structure for a rapidly growing Geni. I think people (including myself) will find projects more valuable if we can make them more specific - happy to be put back in my place though ;-)
As previously mentioned, there are actually, a pleathor of other projects on Geni to represent the British Musicians aka: "Musicians of the United Kingdom" (all of these, should be great places, to cover most of those bases:
Popular Musicians of the United Kingdom (1960s)
Musicians of the United Kingdom (1960s) Music of the United Kingdom developed in the 1960s into one of the leading forms of popular music in the modern world. By the early 1960s the British had developed a viable national music industry and began to produce adapted forms of American music in Beat music and British blues which would be re-exported to America by bands such as The Beatles and ...

Musicians of the United Kingdom (1950s) Music of the United Kingdom began to develop in the 1950s from largely insular and derivative forms to become one of the leading centres of popular music in the modern world. However, IT IS the film actors department, of which you said was your current priority and field of highest acute interst, to which I was referring to as, "spot on" and Geni in need of.
:-)
All except, of course, the already standing project of Jason Scott Wills, which Victar, had already pointed out.
Just to extra- note, just to be sure you´re "smiley" was really smiling.
;-)
My intention was by no means, in any way, ever to, as you wrote, "put anyone back in any place", at all. (gladly or not so gladly ;-) )
I truly wish, as most certainly, you do, too... and all others here on Geni wish us all only the very best in and for harmonious collaborating and collaborations, to enable a better Geni experience, for one and all and therefore, through this evolutionary process, continually create a better Geni all around.
:-* <3
Yes, it really was a smiley. I haven't found anything you've said offensive at all :-)
When I get an idea I can tend to get a bit 'excited' and get carried away with things. And since this is a collaborative effort, I'm more than happy for someone to tell me to slow down, if needed.
And thanks for all your help!
