So, the story goes...
Four or Five CABLE's arrived in a punt (boat) on the shores of FOXTRAP way back in the early 1800's.
Where did they come from? I have no idea.
There are Cables in England, Scotland, Germany, Ireland...

My Great-Great-Grandparents were:
Jacob CABLE and Lousia FAGAN (Her parents were:
William Fagan b.1810 & Sarah Fagan 1816-1899)...
His Parent: ( I would love to know who they were )...

Their Children were:
Azariah Cable b.1876 (Married Rebecca Newell of Pouch Cove)...
Henry (Harry) Cable b.1872 (Married Elizabeth Jane Porter)..
Fredrick Cable b.1880 (Married Mary Baird)...
Julia Ann Cable b.1887 (Married James Taylor)...
Jacob Cable b.1881 (Married Francis [Fagan] Bussey)...
Eleazer Cable b.1869 (Married Susie - Last name unknown)...
William James (Jim) CABLE 1878-1964 ...My Great Grandfather...

My Great Grandmother was Hanna BATTEN 1881-1917 (Wife of above, William James Cable)
Her sisters and brothers were:
Nath Batten (Married Annie)...
Cal Batten (Married Abe Butler)...
Joseph Batten ( Married Caroline Butler)
Benjamine Batten...

Her Mother & Father: Margaret & William Batten

Other people on my list that I am interested in knowing how they were connected to my family are:

John Cable (Married Sarah FAGAN on Oct 17 1832)...
John Cable 1865-1943 (Married Martha Porter 1872-1939)
William Cable (Married Grace (Maiden name unknown).. (Had a child Grace Cable, Christened Feb 17,1835)...
William Cable 1832-1909 (Married Mary Ann 1833-1916)...

If you have even the smallest tid bit of information about my ancesters that you would like to share with me...
I would greatly appreciate it...

Thanks,
Wanda Cable Porter

Private User You are in an excellent place to try to research your ancestry. In general terms it's always best to start with what you know (the present) and work back. So start with parents marriage certificate & make sure' it corroborates what you think you know & look for any clues to what you don't know- for instance witnesses are often family members or there may be an address or a person's occupation that witnesses . Find them in censuses remembering to look at neighbours too. Check their birth certificates & then your grandparents marriage certificates & find them in censuses.
Most of this is easy here on Geni because you just need to click on 'research this person'on their profile. This takes you to the My Heritage site with a plethora of sources.
If you have any difficulties you can resort to discussions or curators like myself.
I hope you find this useful advice
