When this project started it had another name and description (you can see the old description under the history link in the about section of of the project). It was the project that profiles of soldiers who fought for the CSA were added to. Now the description and name have been changed. There is another project called "Confederate States Army" at http://www.geni.com/projects/Confederate-States-Army/11452 that profiles of those that fought for the CSA are also being added to. Should the projects be merged to fix the confusion as to the proper project to add profiles of the CSA soldiers to?
There are over 700 profiles in "this" project, which I would (now) think is not really supposed to have profiles, but serve as an index / umbrella / frame to the other Confederacy related projects.
I would also think most of the profiles in "this" project were in fact CSA soldiers.
Maybe it would make more sense to
- make a new umbrella (that is, this project front page text & links) and request "no profiles" in the future
- merge this project (that is, ask Geni if it's possible) profiles to the http://www.geni.com/projects/Confederate-States-Army/11452 project
- at leisure extract the non combatants / navy etc from the Army project
???
Erica Howton prior to the name and description change on Jan 3 of 2015 this project was called "American Civil War Confederate States Army" and the description said "Feel free to add your Ancestor to this project if they fought for the '''Confederacy''' during the Civil War". That is why there are 700 profiles added to it. Now, with the name and description change I am confused as to where the profiles of soldiers that fought for the Confederacy should be added. Should they continue to be added to this project or only to the "Confederate States Army" project. ???
