The date of marriage is recorded in several sources to have been 2 February 1841. This is unlikely, if one considers the fact that she was born in October 1841.

Their son, Coert ERASMUS, was born in 1858.

Her name is not included in the current SAG Vol 11. Let's hope that the updated SAG collection will reflect her.

If anyone have any records related to her, kindly let me know.

Correction: Helletje Maria Erasmus' son was Coert Frederik Erasmus.

It would be easier if we can tie her to the right family, then get the DOB.

If the marriage date is correct, the youngest she could have been is 12. That would make Heilje/Helltje Maria Smit c.1828 a reasonable candidate (in fact, the only reasonable on in SAG), but in that case the DD must be 1907.

Her father is said to have been Nicolaas Stephanus SMIT. The only Nicolaas Stephanus SMIT I could locate in my SAG collection, was born on 15 July 1815 and baptised on 1 October 1815 in Swartland.

If the mentioned information is accurate, her father must have been 13 at the most, at the time of her birth.

Still looking, though. :-)

Pardon - her father would have been 13...... at the time of her birth, if her date of birth was c1828.
