As far as I know, via my mother I am from a branch of the Azulay family who immigrated to the land of Israel from North Africa at the early part of the 19th century and lived in the town of Safed. We are not sure when exactly they immigrated and from where. We are probably not direct descendants to Chaim Joseph David Azulai (HIDA), and not related to André Azoulay. I do not know the other names that you mentioned. The articles that I mentioned in this post (mainly for my other family members) are from 19th century newspapers in Hebrew and I they mention a teacher named Shmuel Azulay from Safed, who I have all the reasons to believe was my great grandfather. Unfortunately I could not find yet any further details about him, such as the identity of his parents. Thank you for your interest!

Hello Elie Attar. Thanks for your message. Your impressive family tree that you made on my-heritage was forwarded to me just yesterday from my cousin Nurith. I understand that you have met together with Arik a couple of days ago. If you agree I will add some details from your tree to this tree on geni. Best regards, Yuval
