Has anyone yet managed to find primary sources to validate this profile's existence? (Holding thumbs.)
All I can see so far is the unvalidated My Heritage sources.
It would be such a coup if we could confirm her as part of the SA ancestry.

To my mind - what should be the easiest to (dis)prove, is the Drakenstein death record.

If we accept that Ignace was from Calabria, Italy, it is highly unlikely that his father was Paul Mare from Ardenne, France.
There is no record of a Paul Mare and Germaine Mathieu in the distribution list of 1691 or the monsterrolle of the time.
They are not in the Drakenstein membership register of 1715.

Thank you Jansi. As always fast amnd hands on. I will also have a look as soon as I have finished labeling my research photos.
Stay well girls.

But if the source for Calabria Italy is also the unvalidated source for their wedding and Mathieu's Drakenstein death, then there isn't logic behind accepting some of the data as true (Italy birth place) and other of the data as false (marriage and wife's death in SA).

I've been trying to have a long enough pause to re-read through all our previous discusions; do forgive me if I'm missing something big.
Going off to read the Calabria birth location discussion.

The lack of SA records may be good reason to sever Germaine/ Germanine. And, as you say - the question of severing Paul Mare is then raised too.

That will be good Sharon. I do think though that [6000000000187823245]]@danieljacobusbotes Daan Botes
have done researchon this person in land of birth.
Lets hear what he says.

I seem to recall DNA indicating Italy as his place of birth?

Yes, you are correct Private - check the above link where I summarised it. I wonder if Alex Armenis ever found out more?

JUdi - is this the discussion you meant to post on? Sounds like the Catharina conversation we're having?

Sharon there are so many I am not sure where anymore.:)

She's over a 105 when she dies - Does anyone have Sources for her?

Removing her name as Germaine Mathieu, and her dates: 1651
- c 1760

Also removing her present parents: Paul Mathieu & Claire Reignes pending Sources.
