Paul McLaughlin - furtherest back ancestor known

I find that we have on the Paul side the father of the widow Helen Bryson, listed as John Bryson, so he was around circe 1740-1790 ???
Could be a planter family in Ulster. The origins of the Brysons are in Berwickshire, and around Gala there are plenty of them.
I met some of them there. Thats where my Dads family come from in the 1850s.

On the Gillan side, can go back to about 1830 or so. Dumfries.
Too man Micheal McLaughlins to trace that. But we just know the approximate area is around Dungiven / Sperrin Mountains.
