I became interested in this discussion when I learned that Linda Avey has a tree at Geni. When I took the 23andme DNA test four years ago I learned that Linda and I are predicted to be 3rd to 6th cousins.

Linda and I tried to find our common ancestors by comparing our known genealogy. We think the connection is through our Norwegian ancestors, but have not been able to confirm this.

Sadly, when I compared the ancestry for Linda and me at Geni, we are 25th cousins twice removed.
