We've had someone donate to us the entire Ochse descendant line in South Africa from the 1820 settler Christian George Ochse down.

I've added it in writing to the following project: http://www.geni.com/projects/Ochse-Genealogy-of-SA/18760, but need help creating profiles for the individual people.

Anybody who wants to help create 5 or 10 profiles from the list PLEASE just go for it. Anything you do will be appreciated. Thankyou

Why don't you just update the table supplied, June?

Because that would be assuming the SAG is correct?

If it isn't then the process should be as it always has been - produce sources to support whatever the correct information is.

I can up date the table supplied if that is what is wanted - just say the word.

That was definitely the word.

Word taken!

I will do the updates on actual added profiles - adding the SAG reference and extra information if there is any. I have followed through the profiles added by Marie Vermeulen-Boshoff who had added me as manager - linked to the SV.

Great! Update any changes you make that affect the ordering of the profiles on the Ochse project list, as there were at least 3 other users using it to help us add profiles from it.

I will concentrate next on b1c2 plus descendants which was where there were the most discrepancies and note as I go would that be OK? Over the next few days as I have family staying and grandchildren sort of take priority!

Okay, great. I've just done all the b1s kids (the c's) but was getting tired of it - so that's good news.

Yesterday I worked on the list from the bottom up; but this morning it struck me that this might look discouraging to possible helpers - if they didn't scroll down - because it might seem as though there was nothing being done.
Like all volunteer work - I see it as something you do until its gets tiring. People can come back to it when it suits them.

Hi Private User I see you're logging amendments to the list underneath it on the project. Thanks for all the extra work that goes into double checking. So great. And I don't think we need to treat the list as sacrosanct -If new information gives us new kids, or different birth order - change the list so it is as correct as we can make it. The logs about the changes that have been made are always interesting and useful -so imo it would be great to keep them where the changes were : but it seems to me the list itself should reflect the reality as we know it today - Just go ahead and rearrange and add as you go.

OK will rearrange later today - Ouma duties call

The a, b, c on the list is just a formatting tool - change it to reflect the most current truth.

cross posted
