I noticed your search for Bertram Hallas. My great grandfather was a Bertram Hallas, the father of Victor Hallas (my grandfather). We are from Australia and understand Bertram died in the 1926/27 Black Sunday fires in Victoria, Australia.
We have no written record of this, but Victor's son Geoff Hallas was told by Victor. Victor Laurie Hallas was born in January 1916, we understand his Mum died before Victor was 5.
Could Bertram be the same person we are looking for? Victor is a few years younger than Kathleen, we have no details of his past, only stories. Hallas originates in Europe.
