I am struggling to find actual records for this family despite using http://www.genealogievansmilde.nl/schans-1.htm as a guide.
I have not found the daughter's birth but this is her marriage:
Smilde, huwelijksakte, 8 juni 1821, aktenr. 13
Bruidegom: Hendrik Berends Moes, geboren te Diever; oud: 43 jaren; beroep: arbeider, zoon van Berend Hendriks Moes, beroep: landbouwer, en Marchien Willems Moes, beroep: zonder.
Bruid: Maria Jans Schans, geboren te Smilde; oud: 22 jaren; beroep: zonder, dochter van Jan Jans Schans, beroep: arbeider, en Geertien Roelofs.
NB. vader bruidegom overleden (Smilde); moeder bruidegom overleden (Smilde); moeder bruid overleden (Smilde)
The note that the mother of the bride being deceased matches the death date listed on the web page and the name is one of the variations listed.
Allegedly Annigje/Geertien dies when her daughter, Maria, is 6 years old so the name listed on Maria's marriage papers is not much evidence but her father, Jan, was alive and presumably at the wedding (or at least would have had to sign off paperwork etc)
Okay some progress, at least on Maria Jans Schans
Drenlias has her age a marriage wrong, she should be 32 not 22.
She is actually born 1788 when her father is 25 which sounds normal.
However, this means there is a 14 year gap between her birth and her brothers which sounds very odd.
So proof:
1) we have the daughter get married in 1821;
Bruid: Maria Jans Schans, geboren te Smilde; oud: 22 jaren; beroep: zonder, dochter van Jan Jans Schans, beroep: arbeider, en Geertien Roelofs.
2) we have the daughter born in 1788;
dochter van Jan Jans en Geertien Roelfs
3) we have marriage of parents in 1786 (FIND OF THE DAY!)
Bruidegom: Jan Jans, jongeman; herkomst: Cloosterveen.
Bruid: Geertien Roelofs, jongedochter; herkomst: Cloosterveen.
4) then we have the mother born 1758;
Geertien, dochter van Roelf Coops en Marchien Jacobs.
The problem has been that for some reason their records are spread across at least 4 different parishes.
I already mentioned the 14 year gap in children is odd.
It makes me wonder at this "supposed" name change.
Birth, marriage and first two children are all with one name then second two children with another, why the change.
It seems reasonable to me that Greetjen dies after the second child, Jan remarries in the 90s and the children in 1802 and 1806 are with a different woman, ie. Annigje.
