I don't have dates, but am told that Nathaniel's father, Robert William Hanna came from Ulster with his older cousin and settled in Virginia where they farmed and he studied medicine in his leisure hours becoimg a veterinarian. Then Robert moved to Washingto Co, New York, where he married Susan Tompkiins, brother of Daniel D Tompkins (NY governonr and later VP). Our history says that Susan had Scottish heritage.

I am family of Daniel D Tompkins, also researching our family. Daniel D had a daughter Named Susannah M who married Richard Smith according to Staten Island Assoc of Arts & Sciences, lists of his heirs at his death.
