Has everyone taken a look at the newly available Familianten book for Uhersky Brod and surrounding towns?

I'm having troubles understanding which surrounding towns are included in this document. Where can i see the names of the towns?

Was Uhersky Brod a village/town or a district... containing serveral villages?

For some reason, Uhersky Ostroh people are registered in Uhersky Brod book.

Uhersky Hradiste, Uhersky Brod and Uhersky Ostroh all seem to be connected and you need to check records from all three towns.

How did you find this, Randy? In the Inventory page for fond 2098, I only see the Bohemian books.

At the very very bottom, where it says "Knihy familiantů v jiných fondech" is all the Moravian books.

Very nice, I noticed some don't have the father's name, but they have the name before the person got a surname and after. I noticed this in the Stare Hobzi Familiantenbuch.

Thanks, Randy, I see it now. Too bad none of my primary towns are on that list!

Oops, spoke too soon! Kyjov is there, and so is the nearby village of Kostelec. Lots to explore here!

I have only looked briefly and it seems each book is in a different format and contains different information.

Seems that entries for original Familianten in Ostroh gave their age in the year the list was signed, 1798. At least, this holds, Randy, for our 4x-gr-grandfather in Ostroh: http://www.badatelna.eu/reprodukce/?fondId=2098&zaznamId=114394....

Private User, I'd love it if you can make any progress on the Winters in Ostroh (family of Felix Frankurter's mother).

will work on that one day. they are very numerous in the newly-posted list.

Maybe we should make a list of all 89 Familianten and see how many we can link up.

Might just do that. There is a very nice antique map of U. Hradiste & surrounding area at http://www.bergbook.com/images/24791-01.jpg. Might help with some of the village names.

Thanks Debra for that map. Its fabulous. I am very interested in the WINTER family names as my great grandfather Isidor WINTER was born 1839 in Hungary- today Slovakia in a small town near Holic across the Morava river and then lived in Straznice all the rest of his life. He is buried there. I suspect some of the WINTER names in Uh Brod are his family but without the names of his parents which i have been unable to unearth despite years of research it's a bit daunting.
I am keen to collaborate on any research to do with WINTER from Uh Brod.
