Nancy Hanks was born in New Hampshire County, now Mineral County West Virginia. Several documents place the family there. The descendants of Luke Hanks were in Campbell County. She is a descendant of John Hanks, who was Joseph Hanks father.

Actually, that would be just Hampshire County in what was then Virginia, not New Hampshire County.
