Katherine Frances "Kay" Hodgson, 89, of Gull Lake, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Kairos Dwelling.

Kay was born in Windsor, VT to Floyd and Lillian (Bigelow) Ramsdell on December 8, 1924. She grew up in Meredith, New Hampshire and was a 1942 graduate of Meredith High School, Meredith, NH. Kay earned her Registered Nursing Degree from Laconia School of Nursing in 1946 and worked at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit for 20 years, retiring in 1969. She has made her home at Gull Lake the past 45 years and wintered in Scottsdale, AZ since 1991.

Katherine F. Ramsdell was united in marriage to Byron K. Hodgson in Michigan on January 23, 1969. Surviving are Byron, her husband of 45 years; her daughter, Karyn (Lawrie Hollingsworth) Hodgson of Annapolis, MD, two stepsons, Jeff Hodgson of Battle Creek and Curtis (Susan) Hodgson of Dallas, TX; 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Kay was a member of Richland Presbyterian Church and the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church in Fountain Hills, AZ. She formerly worked with preschoolers at church. Kay enjoyed golfing and was a member of Gull Lake Country Club. She also enjoyed bowling; made and collected dolls as a hobby and enjoyed a variety of crafts.
